Quick to Anger

We, as men, have a temper. There are the few and proud who have either been born with calm spirits or have learned to deal with their anger. I am neither of those two. I am quick to anger and slow to calm down. It's what I've learned to be as a man. To be a "MAN" in this culture you have to do a few things well, and that is exactly what I've learned. You have to:

1. Never take any crap from anyone, ever!
2. Let out your anger but keep all other emotions in.
3. Don't ask for help.

God has a different plan for us. James 1:19 says, "My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry,". These are words we should ALL take to heart and follow.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you tonight to pray over my manliness. I am too much of what my culture calls a man and not enough of what you have deemed a man. Please Lord, work on my attitudes with me, calm my spirit, make me more like you. I want to be a great father and husband, and to be great, I have to model what it's like to be a Godly man to my son. I love you,

Amen

Sickness

I'm sick. For the first time in my life I'm sick and I can't just lay around feeling sick. I have a son, and a wife, and a job, and school. It shows even greater, the change my life has gone through in these last 5 months after having a child. It makes me realize the responsibility I have of being a great father and husband. Not the flu, not earthly temptations, not Hell can I let stop me from being the man I'm called to be.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the blessing of people in my life who love me enough to trust me with their lives. I pray that I don't screw that up. Please help me and my fellow men to be the best, most trustworthy, reliable, hearty, loving men we can possibly be. There are so many things in this life that can get in our way, sexual temptations, jealousy, selfishness, greed. Please Lord, keep our eyes towards you and our hearts on our families. Keep "sickness" out of our minds. I love you,

Amen

Workin' Man

As I finish another 12 hour midnight shift that has ruined my weekend, I can't help but feel the blessing of Jesus all around me while I work. As the Head of a Household, I have been called by God to provide for my family.  I work hard to make a decent life for my wife and son, but bringing in money with muscle, (physically or mentally), we as MEN of God are also called to lead our families spiritually.  Where are you leading your family if not being lead yourself by the word of God? Real MEN spend family devotion time.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the blessing of work to provide for my family. Thank you for my home, my family, friends, and church. I truly am blessed. I pray lord, that I fill the role you have called me to. I pray, that I would flourish as the head of my household, not just in physical support, but spiritual as well. Help me to lead my family the way you desire them to be lead. I pray lord that I would gain a passion for guiding my family in the word and keep us walking along your side through this amazing life. I love you.
Amen

Continue Remembering

I didn't make a post yesterday about 9/11 because I figured half of the country would be praying already. The real day us as Christian men should be praying on is 9/12. More prayers should be lifted than just one days worth. The families affected by 9/11 have been through a tragedy that has changed their lives forever and they deserve to be remembered by someone other than on that one day a year.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you tonight to pray over all the families and friends affected during the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centers, the Pentagon, and all the people on the plane that went down in PA. I can't imagine the pain that they felt on that day 11 years ago but even more so, the pain they continued to feel the next day and every other day following. I pray lord, that these families found comfort in you through the pain they felt. We know you can spin all things for good and I pray that your loving hand is continually felt in their lives.

I also pray lord, that us as Christian men would think and pray for our brethren, affected by terrorism and war more than the few days a year that get put on a calendar. I pray that we continue to love and pray for those affected by disasters everyday, as is our duty as Men who follow you.

I also pray for the men who gave their lives for what they believed were orders from a higher power. I pray lord that all those who worship anyone other than you lord Jesus, would see the light shine from you and learn the error of their ways before it ends in death. Thank you for your constant love and support.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen

Introduction Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you today to pray over my vision for composing prayers lifted to a loving God by regular guys like me. I would like to pray over my friends and family and topics that hit home for a man living in this sinful world. I love you (in a manly way), and hope that this finds exactly who it's meant to find. If it's meant to find no one, then I pray that it helps me in lifting my life and young family up closer to my lord and savior Jesus Christ. Thank you for this blessed life i lead.

Amen.
